Bosnian Canadian Islamic Centre (BCIC), a vibrant hub for faith, culture, and community in Canada. Imam Avdija ef. Ramić was born on April 7, 1987, in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He completed his primary education in Zenica and then attended the Osman ef. Redžović Medresa, graduating in 2005 with the title of Imam, Khatib, and Muallim.
After completing his religious studies, he pursued higher education at the Faculty of Law, where he also earned his master’s degree. His thesis, “Terrorism and Its Financing in the World and in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” was published as a book in early 2019 and is currently being translated into English.
With over 17 years of experience as an imam, he has achieved many successes in his work.
The oldest Bosnian mosque in Canada, initially named the Croatian Mosque, is located near Toronto city, and is one of the oldest mosques in Toronto, and certainly the oldest mosque with a minaret.
